UX Lead

UXL | The User Experience Lab is a growing boutique design agency that specializes in strategic design of data-rich, process-oriented software applications across platforms and devices in finance, healthcare and other complex or regulated industries. Conveniently located in Midtown NYC and in Harrison, you’ll be joining a team of dedicated, skilled and fun professionals. We pride ourselves on active collaboration and mentorship while supporting team members wearing multiple hats on projects.

What You’ll Do

As the UX Lead, you will:

• Be a partner to our clients as they strive to imagine a new product or optimize an existing one

• Define and shape the product vision via human-centered design methodologies and data driven insights

• Quantitative and qualitative research

• Usability testing

• Translate ideas and requirements into tangible concepts using UX and Product design best practices

• Personas

• User journeys

• Wireframes

• Mockups

• Prototypes

• Collaborate with other team members and client stakeholders

• Develop and lead UX workshops

• Guide and mentor junior team members

• Participate in business development efforts

Who You Are

Our ideal UX Lead will have:

• 7+ years of relevant UX experience

• Experience leading project teams and building new processes

• The ability to clearly and effectively communicate design processes, ideas, and solutions

• Experience leading generative and evaluative research activities

• A deep understanding of user-centered design

• Collaborative, innovative and open attitude

• Strong attention to detail

• Excellent time management and organizational skills, with proven ability to meet deadlines

• Mastery of design tools such as Sketch, Invision, Zeplin, and Adobe Creative Suite

• Bachelor's degree in related field; experience may substitute degree.

And preferably:

• Experience in Financial Services

• Experience working in an agile environment

• Experience working in a consulting capacity
