Our Tier One Investment Bank client came to us with an interesting challenge: Can we design an easy-to-use, collaborative tool to help Financial Advisors initiate a planning conversation with their clients? Over 8 weeks, we facilitated work sessions with business and technology teams to pair down data points and streamline the workflow needed to provide clients with a meaningful recommendation. The result was a concept for a mobile-friendly interface to the existing platform that is intuitive, compelling and highly interactive. By manipulating plan data, the user can see the results in real time in the form of various graphs and stats. An optimized investment model is recommended, which can be customized and saved for future use.

Our client asked us to design an interface for use by Financial Advisors in applying an asset allocation tailored to a client's goal (retirement, for example) across a portfolio of multiple accounts. The Advisor would customize the allocation for each account, since each account might be set up for a different purposes, but would want to ensure the portfolio as a whole met the target. In addition, we explored controls to move money between accounts, and change other specifics of existing accounts, or open new accounts. We worked to include light instructions and explanations to gently guide Advisors, without restricting their ability to adjust and explore, given that the allocation process could become quite complex at times.
